IMDS is a database, which administers via the internet material data sheets with summarized material data of all
parts that are used in the car manufacturing.
The End-of-Life Vehicle Directive of the European Parliament banned the use of lead, mercury and cadmium for the
automotive industry from July 1st 2003, hexavalent chromium is banned from July 1st 2007. Suppliers to the
automotive industry will have to guarantee products free of the above mentioned elements.
